Overnight Kayak Camping Trips & Eco Tours

We are planning an overnight kayak camping trip on the Sturgeon. Camping will be at the Haakwood? State Park Campground. River Trip starts at Trowbridge the first afternoon with a two hour paddle followed by a camp side dinner with Naturalist Tom Reed who is also quite a chef when it comes to cooking natural foods including Wild Rice and Queen Anne’s Lace in Tempura and any Fresh Fish you may have caught!? The second day of kayaking begins after a wonderful riverside breakfast.? More about Tom and his Nature Tours and Talks soon. I learned a lot of interesting things about the flora and fauna last time we went kayaking on the Sturgeon River!

River Guide and Instructor, Rick Meisterheim is available for a guided eco tour session on the Sturgeon River as well as kayak instruction and lessons. Rick is well versed on the Sturgeon River as he is Program Director at Wolverine Camps and River Rafting Guide at Big Bear Adventures in the Winter. He also teaches kayaking in the winter months at an indoor? pool in Petoskey.

We will be adding a page just about our Eco Trips soon. In the mean time, since all our trips are customized for our guest kayakers, please contact us by email or give us a call at 231-753-8029. Tom is also available for nature talks along the Rail Trail for hikers and bikers.

This beautiful custom log home is a Bed and Breakfast nestled in the woods near the West Branch of the Sturgeon River in Wolverine Michigan. On weekends you would need to stay for 2 nights.
